Passing wealth to the next generation is one of the moments when good planning matters most, and one where most families have the least support. It is the back nine of a financial life, and nobody's final score improves by ignoring it. We work alongside your estate attorney to ensure the strategy in your documents aligns with the strategy in your portfolio and plan, so the two work together rather than against each other.

A word on what we are and are not. We are not a law firm. We do not draft documents or give legal advice. What we do is connect you with experienced estate attorneys who partner with our clients, and then make sure your documents, account titling, beneficiary designations, and long-term plan all tell the same story. That coordinating seat, between your attorney, your CPA, and your family, is where a lot of value is quietly won or lost.

Beneficiary review and titling.

The simplest thing in estate planning, and the one most often gotten wrong. Retirement accounts, life insurance, and jointly held assets pass under beneficiary designations, not under your will. An outdated form can quietly override everything your will so carefully spells out. We check these regularly, so the choice you made years ago still reflects what you want today.

Wealth transfer strategy.

How to structure gifts, trusts, and inheritances so that wealth strengthens the next generation rather than complicating it. We help you weigh the options with your attorney, then make sure the accounts and funding actually follow through, which is the step most often left undone. This includes planning for everyone in your care, from minor children to a family member with special needs to aging parents.

Tax-efficient transfer.

Left unplanned, taxes, probate, and fees can take a real bite out of an estate before anyone sees a cent. Working with your attorney and CPA, we look at where your estate is exposed and which tools, from the timing of gifts to charitable giving, can keep more of it headed where you intended.

The harder conversations.

How much to leave, to whom, and on what terms. And how to talk about it as a family before the conversation has to happen at a worse time. A document cannot answer these questions on its own, and they are often the ones clients most want a steady outside voice for. We are glad to be that voice.
